Odell previously Opal

'Odell' the catahoula puppy with my other rescued, 3 year old, Pitbull mix of somekind, 'Maia'.  This is the very first night they were together!  I knew right away it would work out just fine!!
She's not a big fan of toys just yet, although she really likes stuffed animals (ripping and chewing them that is), so she only gets them when we can watch her - sometimes we feel bad because it seems all the things she enjoys playing with she ends up tearing apart and we have to take them away.  She's really smart and has already learned to sit, lay down and almost heel!

Regan is doing well, spoiled rotten, king of the hill. He is a couch potato 100% and sleeps in my sons bed with him at night. He has decided he prefers the canned food over the dry but we worry about his teeth so mix a half a can with dry food. He is the best dog in the world!!! We love him dearly.

One the first day home, Jax took to Annie immediately.  Trek, the smaller of our two Basenjis and the alpha wanna-be, took about an hour to really get over the fact that he wasn't the alpha anymore as Annie quickly came in and displayed who was boss.  ;o)  Needless to say, Kari, Jax, Trek and I are very thankful that you selected us for Annie's step-parents.

A pic of Abita taken by the Best Friends Network reporter On Sunday at the launch for 2dogs2000mile.org

This family picture obviously doesn’t include Abita’s new feline sister, Boo.  She refuses to be in the picture until Abita has better manners.

Patches is living in his forever home with his new adopted family.

He is such a wonderful, beautiful, smart, loving and easy-going soul.  Enormous thanks go to each of you for all the energy, effort, caring and love you have invested in him. "Our Smokey" will always mean to us -- OUR'S, absolutely including Mary, Bill & Kathy!

We are simply thrilled with Jake and how easily he joined our family. Can't imagine a better dog, we thank our lucky stars daily.

Jake (left) was saved from Death Row in Bay City Texas.  Pictured here with his new sister Olive (right).

Bealle playing with her best buddy - our 7 month old mini-weiner dog, Frankie.  The two of them play like lions, with Bealle frequently wrapping her entire mouth around Frankie's head and neck!  Bealle is so ginger with him, though - it's amazing!  They gallop through the greenhouses and around the property like a pack of wild dogs!

Rosie loves the snow. Rosie found a friend, another rescue dog from Illinois named Molier and later renamed Onyx. Rosie didn't like just any dog but she sure liked him. Her foster Mom asked the adopter if he would consider Rosie and he said he might. She went for a visit, he saw they got along and how much Rosie loved kids so Rosie now has a wonderful home with her bestest dog friend and kids to play with and a nice yard to run and play in.

Even though CeeCee had a rough beginning she will definitely be with us forever!  CeeCee now lives with her big brother Cain (6 yr old English Pointer) in a nice grassy backyard where she has access to the cool indoors or a very warm outdoors.  AZ is so hot! She goes to the nearest doggy park for at least an hour a day and daily walks when it has cooled down.  She loves to give everyone kisses.

Our little Bella chose to be a part of the McNeill family. From the first moment she saw us, she was ready to go to her new Houston home. She enjoys rolling around/springing on her huge bed and has started to figure out that squirrels are fun to chase.  Along with loving ice and water, our "baby" enjoys going on walks in the morning with Dad and playing/cuddling with Mom and Hayley during the day, for there is no end to her energy and enthusiasm for life.

Susan got to feeling sad and crying over her freshly buried dog, End of the trail's Briar Rose. A registered dog that was thrown away into rescue and had been her heart until she died from bloat. She mentioned that some day she would be interested in fostering and we talked about seniors that are so hard to adopt. I mentioned that I was about to take Buster because he had a heart murmur and no one wanted to take him. It would be hard on his heart to come here due to elevation. Suddenly she said.. BUSTER? Is he a registered dog? I said he was and she said she would take him once she realized how non-ideal coming here would be health wise for him. Then she asked if I would find out his registered name. A California breeder that had her Briar Rose also had a littermate named END OF THE TRAIL'S BUSTER. I did question the temp foster Mom who knew the breeder and knew his registered name. Buster was Briar Rose's littermate and Susan wanted him more than anything now. He is home and will be buried when his time comes, beside his littermate, Briar Rose. Till then he has gorgeous landscapes to run through with his new brother Zeus. He will stay in hospice foster care for the rest of his life, whether short or long. He is HOME. Buster is HOME now to stay.
We live on a dead end road and have a huge field behind our house where we walk the dogs.  She took her first walk with us and our other two dogs and seems to love both the walk though the woods and the wide openness of the field. She is so beautiful and so sweet, we are incredibly happy to have her as the newest member of our family.  (Taffy on right next to her new kitty friend and two new dog siblings)

                             Tonka formerly Shep

Tutus came to our home in May and has is adjusting wonderfully. We followed the suggestion of his foster mom and renamed him Angus. Gus enjoys playing with our 2 year old catahoula female Bonny Blue and can usually be found in the cool of the morning and the evening playing a rousing game of chase with her, 'catch the squirrel' seems to be a favorite too. He has a new bed and plush toys to call his own and is learning to play 'tug of war' and 'fetch'.  Even with his rough start in life he is a gentle, cuddly, loveable giant of a boy who loves our kids and is always ready for a pet or a wrestle....I love to see his smiles and hear him 'sing' and 'talk' when he is happy or excited.... it is really something to experience.  Thank you again to the Catahoula Rescue Inc.  Southwest for allowing us to be his forever family. We can't imagine life without him.
After just a few months we have forgotten what our home was like before Tonka our Truck arrived. Our 3 year old son named him, can you tell? Although, it turns out that Tonka means big water, so we couldn't have done better ourselves. Tonka's favorite pastime is snuggling in our double hammock and watching the squirrels and bunnies in the yard. He also loves watching t.v. Some nights he will be laying at our feet as we watch our favorite shows only to look down and see his big blue eyes watching them too! He is such a sweet and loving boy! He lets our 3 year old snuggle him and our 11 month old crawl on top of him. Some days you would think he was a jungle gym! We look forward to sharing many years with him being a big part of our family.
Tracker  is amazing, and not even a little Hyperactive. He's loving and obedient, and just willful enough to be interesting.
Everyone who meets him falls in love with him but he is very attached to us, comes when he's called wherever we are, even if he's playing.  Our vet said he was 10 months old and I think this is true. He's gradually growing into his body and becoming beautifully coordinated and focused.  We are so in love with him.

                            Angus "Gus"

This is the newest addition "Bouchet" as in the water boy. Tiff said to call him pooper so in staying with the french "cajun" theme we decided on "Poupe'  Bouchet."   But just Bouchet is enough. He's still thinks everything is a chew toy - It is a Catahoula.

We are doing well. Roxanne does not like the camera but she likes us and she is very happy.  I have a new nickname for Roxanne and it is Lucy (like Lucille Ball).
She is such a character. She listens and plays well with Charlie. They are having a blast together.

George & Linda adopted Tank from CRI SE in April 2006 & just adopted Maggie from me too in May 2008.  They live in FL during the winter, Maggie & Tank love the boat, beach & pool & then they travel in their huge motor home to their big summer home in AZ.  They have a really wonderful life!
10yr old male Catahoula saved from the shelter, I found him a home where he is spoiled and loving life. He is very gentle, loves toys and sooooo sweet, he is definitely going to be spoiled!

Gypsy was found on the side of the road last month & I put her in boarding, got her vetted & found her a great home in Ft. Myers, FL with the Neary's, they have 2 kids & they love her, she sleeps with their son in his bed too.

This sweet boy has been in Rescue Foster Care, for almost 2 years.  He was a mere 4 months old, when North East pulled him out of a high kill shelter, in Ohio.  He went HOME, yesterday (Sat. 12/6/08)...to a wonderful lady and her 9 year old son, from Maryland.  Now Maverick has a young boy to play with and a fenced yard to do it in !!!!
